Most software shops manage client relationships the same way: a shared inbox, a spreadsheet of statuses, and a folder of files nobody can find. It works until it doesn't — and when it doesn't, the client is the one left guessing.
We didn't want to guess, and we didn't want our clients to. So we built a client portal.
What's in it
When you work with Better Tech, you get an account and a single place that holds the whole relationship:
- Project tracking — every project with its status, milestones, and a running feed of updates from us. You see progress as it happens, not in a status meeting.
- Messaging with files — talk to us in threads tied to your project, with attachments. No email chains, no lost context.
- Deliverables — the files and links we hand off, in one list, always available.

The part we didn't have to build, but did
Here's the choice that says the most about how we work. For the analytics piece — showing clients live traffic on the sites we ship them — we could have dropped in a third-party script and called it done.
Instead we built BetterTech Analytics: our own cookieless analytics product. A tiny script, a private ingestion endpoint, daily rollups, and a dashboard right inside the portal. No cookies, no personal data stored, no dependency on someone else's roadmap.
Why build it? The same reason we built our own programming language: when you own the tool, there's no gap between what you need and what you have. If the analytics need to do something new next month, we change the analytics — we don't file a feature request and wait.
Where this is going
The portal is how we're making "better tech" concrete. It's not a landing-page slogan; it's the software our clients actually touch. Billing and revenue dashboards are next, so the portal becomes the one place a client sees everything — the build, the files, the traffic, and the numbers.
